Every Spring, Baylor History and the Center for Global Engagement host the Baylor in Maastricht Study Abroad program!

The semester-long HIRE program in Maastricht, runs in conjunction with the Center for European Studies (CES), will focus on course offerings and faculty-led student experiences related to history and international relations, broadly interpreted. It is a unique opportunity to live and learn in one of Europe's most historical and international cities!

Course Options
  • Take one or two Baylor courses:
    • HIS 3326 "Early Modern Europe (1500-1800)"
    • HIS 4351 "European Monarchs, Merchants, and Monopolies (1600-1800)"
  • Take three or four courses from Maastricht University professors:
    • Political Science options:
      • PSC 3002 “Law and Politics: Current Topics in the European Union”
      • PSC 3009 “Europe in Crisis, Quo vadis Europa?”
    • English option:
      • LIT 2002 “The Roaring Twenties, Nazi Terrors and the Cold War: European Experiences reflected in Literature”
    • Fine Arts option: 
      • ART 2001 “Dutch Art History”
    • History OR Political Science option:
      • HIS/PSC 4000 “Foundations of Human Rights”
