Academic Interests & Research Narrative
My research focuses primarily on the political history of 13th- and 14th-century England. I recently served as co-editor, with James Bothwell, of Volume XII of Fourteenth Century England (2022), and along with Jessica Lutkin as co-editor of Creativity, Contradictions and Commemoration in the Reign of Richard II: Essays in History in Honour of Nigel Saul (Woodbridge: Boydell Press, 2022). My longer-term research goal continues to be a political biography of Henry de Lacy, earl of Lincoln (d. 1311), on whose career I have written several recent articles.
