Education
B.A. in Political Science and Religion (Concentration: Religious History), Baylor University
Biography
After completing my undergraduate studies at Baylor, I began teaching English and Social Studies at University High School in Waco ISD. After six years, I transitioned to working in the Career Center at Baylor working with Liberal Arts students as they pursue post-graduate endeavors and working closely with the Pre-Law and First in Line programs. My husband, Kyle, works in the Fine Arts LLC as the program director, and we have two boys: Cooper and Walt. In addition to pursuing my master’s in History, I am an advisor for Zeta Tau Alpha and volunteer in the children’s ministry at my church, UBC Waco.
Research Interests
During my time as an educator, I was able to teach AP courses in Human Geography, World History, and Government & Politics as well as Pre-AP courses in World Geography. This fortified my interest in twentieth-century US history with a focus on urbanization and its impacts on cultural patterns.
Why I Chose Baylor
My parents both attended Baylor in the 1980s and raised me a die-hard Baylor fan (through the 1990s, which took its toll). While I came to Baylor for my undergraduate experience due to familial ties, I sought Baylor’s History department for its dedication to its students and to utilizing the knowledge of history to make a positive impact on both Waco and the world.
