Biography
I recently graduated from Baylor University with a BA in History and am now pursuing my master’s degree in the same field. This is my fifth year living in Texas, which I’ve come to call home. Alongside my studies, I serve as the head coach of the Baylor Crew team, work as an assistant copy editor for the book review team at the Journal of Texas History, as well as work with Waco Habitat for Humanity doing construction to build homes in Waco.
Research Interests
At this stage of my academic career, I am interested in twentieth-century US history and military history, specifically, ranging from WWII to the Cold War. Beyond traditional narratives of warfare, I am interested in the technological and cultural history of military conflicts, and in exploring how grassroots movements, resistance efforts, and the militarization of foreign states have shaped global and domestic policies. I am also fascinated by the intersection of the U.S. and global history, especially how the U.S. has wielded its influence on the world stage.
Why I Chose Baylor
I am extremely thankful to have been accepted into a small, supportive program where I can work closely with faculty and benefit from personalized mentorship. Baylor also allows me to continue building the rowing team as head coach after spending four years as a student-athlete. This gives me the opportunity to give back to a club that has given me so much, while pursuing my academic goals in an environment that values both scholarship and community.
